5.0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Tool for Children Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020Mr. Berri has captured the reality of going to the eye doctor which can be a scary situation for children. I remember going to the eye doctor when I was Carmelo’s age. I didn’t know what to expect but this book as all of the Adventures of Carmelo series give children a true understanding of the experience of a new adventure.

Ellen Gillette 5.0 out of 5 stars Good preparation for kids Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2020This book would be great preparation for a child going to an eye doctor for the first time. Carmelo learns about taking care of his eyes, facing things that are new and a little scary, and that he can always trust his parents.

Colleen 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids August 9, 2020 Amazing read for kids! I found that Adventures of Carmelo, The Dentist, is very true for children to understand what it might be like going to the dentist either for the first time or returning. It shows that it’s OK to be scared, and what it means to be brave while facing a situation that may be new. Mr. Berri does a great job for kids to understand and relate to the dentist. This is going to be a wonderful series for children and for parents to use to help children understand. Mary D. Yonkers, N.Y.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking away the “fear factor” June 8, 2020-Adults are sometimes afraid of going to the dentist, so it’s not surprising when children are. Carmelo’s sore tooth, however, is not something his parents can fix. He wants to show them he is brave. He knows he can trust them. His trip to the dentist is explained in Berri’s book, taking the “fear factor” away from other children. Carmelo learns that just like superheroes wear protective capes or armor, superhero teeth have special protection from decay, too. E.G. Florida

5.0 out of 5 stars Even adults are scared of the dentist Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2020 The second of in a series of the adventures of Carmelo, he will surely become a loved character as he overcomes his fears. Going to the dentist through the eyes of a child. Brilliant.

Amanda5.0 out of 5 stars Helped my kids!  April 29, 2020 In Carmelo’s journey, he encounters and overcomes his fear of swimming. What is impressive is my kids faced the same fear, this book arrived at the perfect time as my two oldest were able to overcome the fear of swimming and now listen to their swim teachers. I believe in part; it was because they were able to follow Carmelo’s story and realize that swimming is fun. Not only did Mr. Dalberri craft an incredible story, but he also wove in small children’s lessons that I believe are important, such as how to address adults, how to be brave, and to trust that your parents have your back. I highly recommend this book for parents, grandparents, aunts, or uncles as a must-have in their library for children.

letisha 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!!! Incredibly sensitive to a child’s perspective .Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2020 Format: Hard cover & Audible Audiobook This is such a wonderful book and story about a child overcoming their fear of trying something new. My 6 year old daughter loves this book and wants to read it over and over. I love the messages and the engagement that it prompts between the reader and child. My daughter and I had amazing talks while reading this book and it brought a lot of her feelings to light so that we could talk about her own fears and how to overcome them. This book is written so incredibly sensitive to a child’s perspective and I think that really grabbed my daughter’s attention. My favorite part of this book is how the author introduces and teaches about “trust”. The illustrations are very nice too. This book has helped my daughter in many ways and I am thankful to the author for this book and his sensitivity to a child’s perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Children’s Learning Tool July 30, 2019Format: Hardcover I was surprised at this children’s book from a favorite author of mine I discovered a few years back. He usually writes murder-detective-crime novels. I purchased this for my grandson. He loves it and wants it read to him over and over. It explains Carmelo’s feelings and it expresses them so a child can relate. It hits the mark in the description of teaching a child, boy or girl, many attributes. I hope Mr. Berri makes this a series for children.. Good job Mr. Berri –Michael A.

5 stars I purchased this book for our granddaughter. We thought at first it was for boys. Not so! We are so glad we did. Our granddaughter was about to start swimming lessons and as I read the description I had to get it. This is a gem of a book that tells everything our granddaughter was experiencing and not telling her parents. After her mother read it to her, she felt she could go to swim lessons and it’s OK to be scared and she is not alone. She felt she could be brave like Carmelo. What a wonderful book. Thank you fred berri. Marjorie Cisco.
